Privacy policy
PriceBuddy is a camera based price scanner and currency converter. The developer and data controller is Tomas Michalkevič, operating as MB Syntax flow. Contact: tomas@syntaxflow.dev.
Camera and prices
Camera frames are analysed on your device with Google ML Kit to identify prices. The app does not upload or save camera images. Currency conversion uses exchange rates fetched over HTTPS from the Frankfurter API and cached on your device for offline use.
Saved history and account identifier
When you save an item, PriceBuddy stores its title, prices, currencies, timestamp and optional store name on your device. The app automatically creates an anonymous Firebase identifier and syncs saved items to Cloud Firestore when available. You do not need to enter a name or email to use the app. You can delete individual items or clear your history in the app; cloud deletion needs a network connection.
Purchases, ads and diagnostics
Google Play processes the optional Pro purchase; PriceBuddy does not receive your payment card details. The free version uses Google AdMob for banner and rewarded ads. AdMob may process IP address, ad and app identifiers, interactions, and diagnostics for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics may collect app interactions, identifiers, crash reports, device and app information. We use this information to operate, improve and protect the app. Where required, the app requests advertising consent.
Data control and retention
Saved history remains on your device and in your anonymous Firestore record until deleted. Clearing history in the app removes local items and requests removal of synced items. Other service providers manage their own diagnostic and advertising data under their policies. You can request help with deletion by following our data deletion instructions. You may also clear app storage or uninstall PriceBuddy to remove local data. These actions do not necessarily erase data already held by third-party services.
